RPS Adeno Detector由Rapid病原篩查公司(South Williamsport, PA, USA)制造的，是一種吸附條帶，能夠收集淚液，然后浸入緩沖液中。如果有腺病毒存在，腺病毒抗原就可以被2種抗原特異性抗體捕獲。檢查結(jié)果10分鐘之內(nèi)就可以知道，在檢測(cè)區(qū)域內(nèi)表現(xiàn)為1條（陰性）或者2條（陽(yáng)性）紅線。這種檢測(cè)可以用于在7天內(nèi)出現(xiàn)紅眼病的感染性結(jié)膜炎。

Rapid Diagnosis for Conjunctivitis
 
A rapid immunochromatography test will enable differential diagnosis of acute adenoviral conjunctivitis by qualitative detection of adenoviral antigens in human eye fluid.

The RPS Adeno Detector, made by Rapid Pathogen Screening (South Williamsport, PA, USA), is an absorbent strip on which tear fluid is collected, which is then dipped in a buffering solution. If present, the adenoviral antigen is captured between two antigen-specific antibodies. Results are available within 10 minutes and appear as one (negative) or two (positive) red lines in the read-out area. The test is best used within seven days of developing a red eye consistent with infectious conjunctivitis.

The RPS Adeno Detector has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The rapid availability of test results for differential diagnosis in point-of-care settings is expected to decrease empiric use of unnecessary antibiotics, which have been linked to risks for resistance, adverse effects, allergies, and corneal toxicity.
